Burnham-On-Sea Minor Injury Unit
This is not a service available at Highbridge Medical Centre, however we feel it is worth highlighting that the Minor Injury Unit at Burnham Hospital can treat a range of conditions including some minor illnesses, e.g. sore throat and respiratory infections. The opening hours are 10am – 6pm seven days a week and there is a ‘sit & wait’ policy (last admission 5.30pm).
They can treat the following aliments;
> Injuries to upper and lower limbs
> Broken bones, sprains, bruises and wounds
> Bites - human, animal and insect
> Burns and scalds
> Abscesses and wound infections
> Minor head injuries
> Foreign bodies in the eyes, nose and ears
> Sore throats and ear pain
> Dental problems
> emergency contraception
> Asthma attacks
Please note that this service does not provide routine or repeat prescriptions.
